Where are your memories?

In a shoebox? In a yellowed magnetic album? On your computer?

Let me help you recapture those precious moments in your life — one page or one album at a time. Using archival-quality, photo-safe materials, I’ll turn your photos, memorabilia and memories into a wonderful layout or album.

Celebrate Everyday

Pick a fun new holiday to celebrate. Take pictures, laugh and enjoy the day.

September 5th Cheese Pizza Day

Who doesn’t love cheese pizza? It’s my daughter’s favorite food. Make a pizza with your children. Find a new recipe. Learn how to make your own pizza crust. And don’t forget to add lots of cheese! Can’t wait to try this pizza crust. And I love trying new sauce recipes like this one or this one.

September 6th Read a Book Day

Pick up that book you haven’t had time to read. Share the joy of reading with your children. Have them read to you or find a new book to read to them. Right now I’m reading The Time Traveler’s Wife and my daughter is really into The Magic Treehouse Series, Junie B Jones Series and can’t wait for us to start Little House in the Big Woods.

Christmas Memories

This was such a fun project. I used a 4×6 photo album. On the left side I designed a journaling block and used some cute, aged Christmas paper. I left the right side blank, easy to slip in a 4×6 photo. What a great place to keep those treasured Christmas moments from one year or many years, of your children’s lives or from your own special memories growing up.

Christmas Memories photo album scrapbook

This method of scrapbooking is called Photo Album Scrapbooking. You can learn more about it here and here and here.

Year in Review Album

I’ve been trying to come up with a way to document our years, some sort of year in review album. At first I was thinking about a few pictures from each month, but there are some months I didn’t take many pictures and I really didn’t want 12 pages for each year. So, I think I will try to group the pictures the way I do my other scrapbook pages, by categories: Things We Did, Places We Went, People We Saw.

Over the next few months I will show you how I will put together my Year in Review album, from selecting pictures to finding the words.

Note Cards

One of the gifts I made this year, note cards.

Happy New Year!

Happy Birthday Sesame Street!

Today is Sesame Street’s 40th birthday. Loved it when I was little and still love to watch it with my 5-year-old.

My favorite Muppet is Kermit. Who is your favorite?

Cute as a Bug – Flip Album

Here is my latest flip album, Cute as a Bug. I made it for a raffle for a local moms’ group, TriadMommies.com.

This was so much fun to make. It can hold 8 4×4 photos and has plenty of journaling spots. Summer photos, children playing, even pets would all look really cute in this album.

Projects

Wow! Where has the summer gone? It’s finally fall and my daughter has been in kindergarten for a month. Lots of adjustments for all of us.

I can’t wait to share all of the projects I’ve been working on (or thinking about):

  • what we did this summer mini album
  • gift albums
  • pocket albums
  • flip albums (I had so much fun with this one, I couldn’t wait to start another one)
  • greeting cards
  • paper bag album

I hope to start posting these in the next few days.

Today is National Doughnut Day

img_55382What a great holiday! Celebrating doughnuts, yum!

Wikipedia tells us that the first Friday of June is National Doughnut Day. In 1938, National Doughnut Day was started as a Salvation Army fundraiser to honor the women of World War I who served doughnuts to the soldiers in France.

Today, some of the doughnut locations here in the US are giving away free doughnuts.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is giving away a free doughnut to every customer that visits a participating Krispy Kreme store.

I’ve heard Dunkin’ Donuts is giving away a free doughnut with the purchase of a beverage.

Enjoy!

Hug Your Cat Day – June 4th

Today is “Hug Your Cat Day”. If your cat is anything like our cat, that may be tough to do. He’s not much of a hugger, especially hugs from our 5-year-old.

When was the last time you took pictures of your cat (or dog or bird or fish or whatever)? They are part of the family, too. Don’t forget to include them in your photo albums, scrapbooks and stories.
